Vardy had surpassed Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record with scoring 10 goals in 10 matches in a row. Ruud van Nistelrooy was a Dutch striker who had played for Manchester United. In his first season he had scored only 5 goals in 34 matches. This season, in 15 matches he had scored 14 goals. Manager Claudio Ranieri now describes Jamie as a key striker.
